Often, women from marginalized groups do not have information on how to act in cases of domestic violence. Due to little contact with law enforcement structures and a lack of trust, as well as stigma and discrimination, they do not turn to the police.
One of the ladies we are supporting by representing her in court for her separation process from her husband is facing such a situation. We informed her how she should act and where she should go if the domestic violence repeats and what other steps she and the organizations can take in case it is necessary in the future, such as housing her and her children elsewhere, reporting , protection order, etc.
